Contact Atlantic COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Event
Community Involvement is a big deal with the Contact Centre community. Giving back to the community in which we live and work is important to all of us, and we know that many contact centres hold activities where they contribute to their local community organizations.
At conference time, as we come together as an industry, there is no better time to also join forces as an industry to reach out and help the local community. A tradition we started at Contact Atlantic 2015, each year we want to help a local organization or organizations by donating our time and efforts to help them in a worthy cause.
This year's Community Involvement event will benefit a couple of very deserving organizations in the local Moncton area ... Blessings in a Backpack and The Humanity Project.
Blessings in a Backpack Moncton, is a local nonprofit organization offering a unique school-based feeding program. This program serves 27 schools in our local area for both the English and French school districts. The purpose of the program is providing food on weekends for elementary school children in need. Not only throughout the school year but also ensuring March break and the Holiday break is taken into consideration. Since their start in 2012, the children participating in the program has increased from ten to almost 600 currently in 2016. What makes this even more special is that 100% of monetary proceeds go directly to the children.
At the Contact Atlantic event this year, we will be making a financial contribution to Blessings in a Backpack, in lieu of presenting gifts to our speakers and conference organizing committee.

The Humanity Project is a registered nonprofit social community of individuals committed to igniting social change and improving lives of those in need in our local City. Their overall goal is to have 100% of donated resources put directly back into the community. Their hope is to create a revolution for a more kind, caring, and compassionate human evolution.
Donations to the Humanity project are used to assist the lives in our local community through support in locating homes for the homeless, providing meals for families along with necessities like diapers and formula, creating community gardens, sponsor families during the holiday seasons, donations to What kids need Moncton Inc, Random actions of kindness (230 free coffees), and during the winter creating survival kits which includes blankets, socks, and food & during the summer handing out water to those in need just to name a few.
By participating in our community outreach activity November 8th 2016 you will have the opportunity to be a part of something bigger. Projects could range depending on need at the time of the event from: Cooking, cleaning, serving meals, sorting clothing, organizing, preparing family food boxes, etc. As they say: “The value of life is measured by what you give away”. So please come out and support us in assisting the Humanity project with a variety of projects that will assist in improving the lives of others in our community.
We would like to challenge all delegates participating in this years’ event to support those in need in our local community by donating a pair of socks at the reception desk upon arrival.
More information to come about these two great causes and how you can join us to get involved! Please pencil in Tuesday, November 8th to help us with this meaningful Community Involvement event.
